Sustainability is an increasingly important practice, but how does it apply to the painting field? I'll be updating this page as I learn and implement more sustainable practices throughout the company.
My current practices at Eco Paint include:
- I use low- and no-voc paints and finishes
- My vehicles run on biodiesel
- I wrap tools in plastic instead of daily cleaning (saves water)
- I favor locally manufactured products
- I only partner with other sustainable businesses and trades
- I consciously minimize the use of expendable materials
- I maximize recyclables in the paint process
- I offer a fuel-saving discount to my central Portland customers
I'm always looking for more ways to economize. Efficiency and skill are very conducive to sustainability in that they remove redundancies in products and actions. And when I spend less, my clients spend less.
